AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man will spend the next 15 years in prison after he was convicted of stabbing an Amherst police officer during a domestic violence call last July.
Rayquell Grant, 27, was sentenced to 15 years related to an incident that took place Saturday, July 12, 2025, when officers with the Amherst Police Department were called to the 4800 block of N. Bailey Avenue.
Officers arrived and witnessed Grant climbing out of the back window of the home they were called to, at which point bodycam footage, released by the police department last year, shows Grant charging at Officer Aidan Vangelov and stabbing him in the arm…
