A person was found dead inside an SUV parked at a gas station along Palm Beach Boulevard in Alva Wednesday, prompting a death investigation from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. The body was discovered in the parking lot of the Citgo gas station and Handy Neighborhood Store, according to Gulf Coast News and Weather, which first reported the discovery. The station sits at 21321 Palm Beach Boulevard, the same stretch of State Road 80 that runs through the rural community of Alva in northeast Lee County. Deputies have said the death does not appear to be connected to the gas station or convenience store itself.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has classified the investigation as non-suspicious, per the outlet’s report, but that initial assessment is not the final word.
