The Most Reverend Emilio E. Biosca, O.F.M. Cap., bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Venice in Florida, will be joined by the clergy and faithful of the diocese for a special Catholic Mass of Remembrance on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. The Mass will be held on the grounds of the Church of The Ascension at 6025 Estero Blvd. The church was destroyed during Hurricane Ian in September 2022.
“As we continue the important work of rebuilding Ascension Parish,” Bishop Biosca said,
“we will come together as a community on the anniversary of Hurricane Ian to pray for those who lost their lives, those who lost family or friends, those who lost their homes, and all those hurt by this devastating tragedy, the effects of which are still felt today by so many.”…
