FORT MYERS, Fla. —
The Gulf Coast Hurricane Tracking Team is monitoring Tropical Storm Hanna over the open Atlantic. As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, Hanna is a weak tropical storm producing sustained winds at 40 mph. The storm is pulling away from the U.S., moving east-southeast at 5 mph.
As the storm battles wind shear and dry air, Hanna is expected to weaken into a post-tropical cyclone by Wednesday night.
Hurricane season ends in just over two months. The next name on the list is Isaias. As we head into October, the most common spots for tropical development are in the Caribbean and off the U.S. East Coast.
