BOCA GRANDE — Gasparilla Island’s two historic lighthouses are back in action, with two events planned to show them off to the public.
The Barrier Islands Park Society recently announced a climbing event for the Gasparilla Island Lighthouse, set for this week.
The nonprofit also announced the reopening of its more-famous sister, the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse Museum, which has been repaired following damage from Hurricane Ian.
“We are delighted to welcome the community and visitors back to the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse Museum after months of restoration following Hurricane Ian,” said Sharon McKenzie, executive director of BIPS.
