Crystal Lake Park is breaking ground later this month in Cape Coral, which promises to deliver a new beach, new boat and kayak launches, and a scuba diving area.

When will the groundbreaking happen?
The new park is a neighborhood park in northwest Cape Coral, 4307 NW 36th St., and will break ground at 10 a.m. Feb. 23.
What will the park offer?
The master plan for the park includes the following:
- A beach surrounded by a 45-acre lake.
- Restrooms.
- Picnic shelter.
- Scuba diving area.
- Sun shelters.
- Fitness stations.
- Hill overlook.
- A boat launch is on the west side of the park that connects to the canals.
- A kayak launch is on the west side of the park that connects to the canals.
- Nine paved parking stalls on the west side, two of which are ADA-compliant.
- Ten boat trailer parking stalls on the west side, one of which is ADA-compliant.
- A 10-feet-wide multi-use path.
- A 6-feet-wide walking path.
- An emergency boat launch near the east side of the park.
- Nineteen paved parking stalls on the east side, two of which are ADA-compliant.
- Twenty grass parking spots on the east side.
- Additional overflow parking area with an indeterminate amount of parking.
