Florida Teacher Charged for Sending Inappropriate Photo to Student

Cape Coral, FL – A Southwest Florida middle school teacher is facing charges after being accused of sending an explicit photo to a student.

According to prosecutors, Joseph Michael Reynolds, a former teacher at Diplomat Middle School, appeared in court on Thursday following his arrest for reportedly sending an inappropriate photo to a student.

The Cape Coral Police’s Special Victim’s Unit was alerted by the school’s Resource Officer about a potentially inappropriate relationship between Reynolds and a student.

Investigators discovered that Reynolds had given his phone number to the student, initiating a texting communication chain.

Reynolds was arrested on charges of transmission of material that is harmful to a minor.

He was released from jail on a $25,000 bond.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, May 16th at 1:30 p.m.
