PORT CHARLOTTE — There are no consequences or clean-ups required at Smash It — a new business that encourages people to blow off steam by breaking, crushing and, well, smashing things.
Smash It, features shatter and splatter rooms where customers can wreak havoc on everyday items or squirt neon paints on one another, or just create a bright, glowing painting.
The venture is set to open Saturday at 3280 Tamiami Trail, Unit 23, at The Promenades Mall in Port Charlotte.
And while the business is new, getting it open has been a long-time project for its owners.
A RAGE ROOM FAMILYSmash It co-owners and Jason and Kyle Myers have been working on the new business for more than a year.
The husband-and-wife team have experience working close with people and their emotions.
Kyle Myers said she has a background in social work and mental health.
She spoke to the importance of venting feelings. Smashing things or doing something creative are two activities that can help people of all ages.
“Everyone needs an outlet,” she said. “We all deal with stress all day long.”
