Four killed in Lee County crash

LEHIGH ACRES — Four people were killed in a three-car crash in Lee County on Sunday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol issued a crash report Monday regarding the crash at Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres.

At around 11:41 a.m. on Sunday, a sedan with four occupants — one driver and three passengers — was traveling west on Lee Boulevard.

According to the crash report, the vehicle attempted to turn right on a curve, wound up traveling over the raised median, and entered the eastbound lanes of the road.

At the same time, two other sedans were traveling east on that side of traffic — one in the centerlane and one in the outer lane.

The first vehicle hit the front of the sedan in the center lane, which then moved to strike the front-left side of the sedan in the outer lane.

The driver and all but one passengers in the first vehicle were declared dead at the scene by first responders.

The last passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Cape Coral, was listed in “critical” condition and taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center for treatment.
