FEMA opens Disaster Recovery Center in Punta Gorda

PUNTA GORDA – The Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened a Disaster Recovery Center at the South County Regional Park Recreation Center, 670 Cooper St., Punta Gorda, according to Charlotte County officials.

The DRC will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m., seven days a week.

The centers provide disaster survivors with information from Florida agencies, FEMA, and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

People can get help applying for federal assistance and disaster loans, update applications and learn about other resources available.

People affected by Hurricane Milton in Florida can also apply for assistance online at

www.DisasterAssistance.gov

or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362. Hotline hours are 7 a.m.-10 p.m., seven days a week.

Help is available in many languages.
