CAPE CORAL, Florida — A 20-year-old man was arrested following a series of vehicle burglaries and a high-speed chase in Cape Coral, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. Billie Michael Dyson, of Cape Coral, Florida, was apprehended after crashing a stolen BMW and attempting to flee on foot.
Officers responded to a call on June 9, 2025, at approximately 2:03 a.m. regarding a vehicle burglary in progress on SW 44th Terrace. Surveillance footage showed Dyson unlawfully entering a vehicle parked in a driveway. Shortly after, patrol units spotted a suspect matching Dyson’s description entering a white BMW near SW 46th Terrace and SW 18th Avenue. The vehicle fled at high speed when officers attempted a traffic stop, eventually crashing into a concrete wall near SW 47th Terrace and SW 20th Place. Dyson fled on foot but was tracked and apprehended with the assistance of a K9 unit.
The investigation revealed that Dyson burglarized multiple vehicles in the neighborhood with the intent to steal items or the vehicles themselves. Stolen items, including a key fob, were recovered and returned to the victims. Dyson also stole the BMW from a nearby driveway and acknowledged that he was aware his driver’s license was suspended…
