PUNTA GORDA – With music playing, water balloons flying and backpacks stuffed with school supplies, hundreds of families gathered Sunday for a back-to-school event that was as fun as it was essential.
Hosted at Cooper Street Recreation Center, a facility owned by the city of Punta Gorda, and sponsored by RDG Florida Contractors in partnership with the Punta Gorda YMCA, the giveaway provided more than 500 Charlotte County students with the tools they need for a strong start to the school year.
