PORT CHARLOTTE: David Hull declared ‘indigent’ for costs, trial pushed back

PUNTA GORDA — David Hull was declared “indigent” for court costs and had his second-degree homicide trial pushed back Thursday to an unknown date.

Hull, arrested in April, 2024 for the shooting death of Manuel “Macho” Torres, was recently denied statutory immunity, and now his pretrial process is continuing.

Circuit Judge Lisa Porter recently denied Hull’s “immunity” citing Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law. The law was passed in 2005 and allows people to use force, even deadly, to defend themselves…
