Punta Gorda grapples with DOGE agreement

PUNTA GORDA — Concerned a DOGE inspection could force the city’s police and 911 dispatch to consolidate with Charlotte County, a Punta Gorda City Council member spoke up to retain home-rule power before signing any agreement.

Punta Gorda City Council member Melissa Lockhart said she’s for DOGE at the federal government level.
