Fort Myers Woman Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison for Gas Station Shooting

Fort Myers, FL — Rachel Reloni Robinson has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after being adjudicated guilty of Aggravated Battery, Petit Theft, and Resisting a Merchant’s Efforts. Robinson was convicted in June following a jury trial in Lee County.

The charges stem from a February 15, 2024, incident at a gas station on Cleveland Avenue. Officers with the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a report of an assault and found a man lying on the ground bleeding. Robinson was located nearby, talking on a cellphone. A witness identified her as the shooter, and an officer observed the handle of a firearm protruding from her handbag before detaining her.

During the trial, prosecutors presented surveillance video showing Robinson removing drinks from a store cooler and walking out without paying. When a store employee attempted to stop her by retrieving the drinks, Robinson punched him. As the victim tried to defend himself and retreat, Robinson shot him. The victim survived the attack…
