3,000 Pounds of Trash Gone

Keep Lee County Beautiful, once again joined millions of volunteers worldwide in the Ocean Conservancy’s annual International Coastal Cleanup. This year, more than 500 volunteers across 25 sites in Lee County removed 3,000 pounds of litter and debris from the environment. The ICC engages people across the globe to clean up beaches, waterways, and coastal areas, while also documenting the types of litter collected. Since the program’s beginning, over 18 million volunteers have collected nearly 385 million pounds of trash.
