Temporary Road Closure on Achilles Street in Charlotte County for Pipe Installation Oct. 7-8

Heads up, drivers—Charlotte County’s Public Works Department has announced a temporary road closure that might put a kink in your commute next week. Achilles Street is getting a pipe installation and will be sealed off between Burlingame Avenue and Fitzpatrick Avenue. The closure will take effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, and will repeat on Wednesday, Oct. 8, so you’ll need to plan your detours accordingly.

Public Works is on a mission not just to update infrastructure, but to keep disruption at a minimum, according to the official release from the Charlotte County, so while the inconvenience is temporary, the benefits of the new pipe should be long-lasting, and while drivers are encouraged to stay sharp and cautious in construction zones, it’s also important to be patient and anticipate potential delays in your daily routes during these hours…
