CAPE CORAL, Florida — A Cape Coral woman was arrested for driving under the influence after a series of reckless driving incidents on Saturday night, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. Officers responded to reports of a silver Honda Odyssey driving erratically near Del Prado Blvd S and Veterans Parkway.
Jana Labash, a 51-year-old resident of Cape Coral, Florida, was identified as the driver. Police say she ran a red light, drove into oncoming traffic, and struck barriers on the Cape Coral Bridge and Del Prado Blvd S. Officers located her vehicle weaving through traffic at 53 mph in a 40 mph zone, and initiated a traffic stop. Labash reportedly reversed her vehicle, nearly hitting a patrol car, and then attempted to drive forward again before officers assisted her in putting the car in park.
Once out of the vehicle, Labash displayed signs of impairment, including unsteadiness, slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and the odor of alcohol, according to the police report. She was uncooperative during Standard Field Sobriety Evaluations and was arrested for DUI.
