Lee County, FL – Deputies in Lee County have made 13 arrests as part of an ongoing enforcement effort to combat reckless driving and illegal street takeovers across the county. The initiative, called Operation Wild Wheels, focuses on cracking down on “super speeders,” street takeovers, and unlawful ATV activity on public roads.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), the latest enforcement push resulted in 238 traffic stops, 247 citations, 326 warnings, and one outstanding warrant. Sheriff Carmine Marceno said the operation aims to address growing community concerns about reckless and dangerous driving in east Lee County.
“This year alone, we’ve received over 721 calls related to reckless driving in Lehigh Acres, including 150 involving ATVs,” Marceno stated. “We hear your concerns, and we’re taking them very seriously.”…
