PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Florida International Air Show in Punta Gorda has secured new acts ready to perform in case the federal government shutdown grounds its star performers.
The show’s board of directors has said the 2025 event at the Punta Gorda Airport will go on as planned, Nov. 1-2, with or without the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force’s F-16 Viper Demo Team.
The air show announced it has secured a top civilian jet performer, Randy Ball, flying a 1950s-era Soviet MiG-17 fighter, joined by a second MiG-17, making it “one of the most thrilling lineups in FIAS history,” organizers said in an Oct. 23 news release…
