Moments after a jury last week delivered the second conviction in a nightclub shooting that left two dead and 14 injured nearly a decade ago, authorities reflected on the milestone.
Demetrius O’Neal, 28, faced two counts of second-degree murder for the deaths of Stef’an Strawder, 18, and Sean Archilles, 14, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder. Jurors convicted him Oct. 31 on all counts after about two hours of deliberations.
“It was supposed to be a fun night out, a teen night at Club Blu off of Evans Avenue, here in Fort Myers,” Fox said. “But instead, children were thrust into chaos and danger as gunfire rang out and a gun battle ensued.”…
