FORT MYERS, Fla. — Today is the last warm day we’ll have before temperatures drop significantly, thanks to a cold front.
After a foggy start, highs will climb into the mid-to-upper 80s, and it’ll feel like it’s in the 90s this afternoon once again. We keep a 10% chance of rain around today for any pop-up showers this afternoon, but the vast majority of the Gulf Coast will stay dry.
Then, the cold front moves in on Monday. Once temperatures peak in the low 70s on Monday afternoon, they will drop throughout the afternoon and evening into the 30s and 40s on Tuesday morning. It’s likely that we will see some low temperature records broken that day, with most locations forecast to tie or fall below record territory. Temperatures look to recover as we move towards the end of the week.
The tropics are quiet at least for the next seven days…
