Man accused of driving the wrong way on I-75 arrested, faces DUI charge

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A man in Charlotte County was arrested Sunday morning after being spotted driving the wrong way down Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to court documents, Manuel Turner, 34, was seen driving southbound in the northbound lanes of I-75 around 3:17 a.m. When troopers stopped him, Turner reportedly said that he was driving along Alligator Alley; however, the trooper informed him that he was actually on I-75 in Charlotte County. The trooper said he smelled alcohol on Turner’s breath.

Turner is facing charges of driving under the influence and refusal to submit to DUI testing and was issued citations for operating a vehicle with expired registration and driving the wrong way…
