FWC: Man took commercial crab, faces felony charges

PUNTA GORDA — A Punta Gorda man was arrested after taking commercial crab traps that didn’t belong to him, wildlife officers reported.

Philip Walter Heuman Jr., of 95 Vivante Blvd., Punta Gorda, was charged with three counts of unauthorized removal of crab traps — third-degree misdemeanors — and three counts of unauthorized harvesting of blue crabs — third-degree felonies, according to reports from the Charlotte County Jail.
