NATURE TAKES FLIGHT: Punta Gorda park launches bird-friendly garden

PUNTA GORDA — The Peace River Audubon Society and Punta Gorda Isles Green Thumbs are teaming up to dedicate a new “Plants for Birds” garden at Punta Gorda Nature Park, the groups announced this week.

This nonprofit organization collaboration is powered by a grant from FPL’s NextEra Energy Foundation and Audubon Florida. The purpose of the grants is to accentuate how park plantings provide food and sanctuary for birds — and a living classroom for the community.
