Food Bank distributes 38M pounds in year

PORT CHARLOTTE — The 2025 Impact Report of Harry Chapin Food Bank showcased its progress “toward its mission of ending hunger in Southwest Florida,” according to a news release.

The report, released Wednesday, is an eight-page document that demonstrates the nonprofit’s progress during 2025, it noted.

“In 2025, the Food Bank distributed 38.7 million pounds of food, including 12 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables. The portion of fresh produce represents a 14.3% increase over the prior year,” it stated…
