CAPE CORAL, Florida — The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a citywide traffic saturation operation on January 26, 2026, specifically targeting distracted driving. The operation resulted in 87 total citations, according to a press release from the department.
The operation, funded by an FDOT sub-grant, took place from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and involved 96 total traffic stops. Officers issued 43 speed citations and 43 distracted driving citations.
