Fort Myers driver blows double the legal limit after swerving on San Carlos Blvd, deputies say

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A motorist was arrested for driving under the influence early Monday morning after deputies say he was swerving into oncoming traffic and later provided breath samples more than double the legal limit.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reports the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of San Carlos Boulevard and Pine Ridge Road in unincorporated Fort Myers.

According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a blue Volvo S60 make an abrupt stop on the roadway with no traffic ahead of it. As the vehicle continued onto Pine Ridge Road, it reportedly swerved into the opposite lane while braking and accelerating erratically…
