Lee County Parks & Recreation announces that the new pickleball courts at Rutenberg Park, 6500 South Pointe Blvd., are complete and the courts are now open for play starting Thursday, Feb. 5.
The $3.2 million improvement project added eight lighted pickleball courts, including four covered courts, along with a shade structure, ADA-compliant restrooms, a staff office building, parking lot improvements, new sidewalks and a paved walking trail. The project was funded through Community Park Impact Fees.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the project is scheduled for 10 a.m., Feb. 24 at Rutenberg Park. The event will include brief remarks from Lee County Commissioners and other officials.
