WATERLINE: Gulf Council has ecosystem working group meeting in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS — The Gulf Council will hold an Ecosystem Working Group session in Fort Myers and four other locations in coming weeks.

“These meetings are being held to provide Ecosystem Working Group members from each region an opportunity to share their views of Fishery Ecosystem Issues of Concern,” the Gulf Council stated in a news release. “These Fishery Ecosystem Issues shape the Gulf Fishery Ecosystem Plan which is a non-regulatory document developed by the Council to explore system-informed management decisions.”

There is only one meeting in Florida. The others take place in Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana and Alabama…
