Preliminary reports, subject to revision, indicate that pick-up truck, vehicle #1, heading north, braked for a semi tractor-trailer truck also heading north but stopped or nearly stopped in the r
oad. Whereupon vehicle #2 ran into the rear of vehicle #1. Pick-up truck vehicle #3 ran into the back of vehicle #2 which was either pushed or drove into the southbound lane of traffic and was struck again by the SUV vehicle #4 heading south.
There were no reported serious injuries.
