Drier air begins to move across the Gulf Coast Wednesday night

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A few leftover showers are possible Wednesday night along the coast; however, drier air will help to reduce rain chance through the night. Most areas across the Gulf Coast will remain mild and muggy.

Starting Thursday, dry air will essentially shut off rain chances to close out the workweek. This will help to make daily highs in the 90s feel more tolerable. Expect a near-zero chance of rain on Thursday and Friday.

Tropical moisture will begin to surge into the area during the weekend, and this will, in essence, start the rainy season for Southwest Florida. Rain chances increase on Saturday, leading to isolated showers and storms during the evening hours. Moisture will steadily increase on Sunday, bringing the opportunity for scattered showers and storms.
