Cape Coral man arrested for aggravated assault with pellet gun

CAPE CORAL, Florida — A Cape Coral man was arrested after allegedly pointing a pellet gun at a worker, according to police.

On May 15, 2026, just after 5:45 p.m., officers with the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a disturbance at 1510 SE 42nd St., Cape Coral, Florida. The caller, who had been hired to do work in the area, reported that Sergio Roberto Hernandez, a 59-year-old resident of the address, confronted him and demanded he move his truck. The caller alleged that Hernandez then pointed what appeared to be a black pistol at him from approximately 10 feet away, causing him to fear for his life and wish to pursue charges.

Witnesses corroborated the caller’s account, stating they heard yelling and saw Hernandez point a weapon directly at the caller. Officers recovered the weapon, which was identified as a black handgun-style pellet gun resembling a standard firearm. The pellet gun was not loaded…
