DNA helps solve cold case murder nearly 30 years after young mother stabbed to death in NE Indiana

(WXIN/WTTV) — Indiana State Police believe they have identified the killer responsible for the stabbing death of a young woman that occurred nearly 30 years ago in northeast Indiana.

Angela Saco, a 23-year-old living in Fort Wayne, was found deceased on Dec. 21, 1997, at the Huntington County Reservoir property on County Road 100 East in Huntington. A coroner determined that Saco, a mother to a 2-year-old son, had been stabbed to death.

Witnesses said that the last place Saco had been seen alive was her job in Fort Wayne during the early hours of Dec. 21, 1997. At the time, state police interviewed nearly 100 people in connection with her death. However, detectives were unable to develop any solid leads or identify potential suspects…
