INDIANAPOLIS (WANE) — Track chairs belonging to Fort Harrison State Park have been returned nearly one month after being reported stolen, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
The break-ins happened between April 30 and May 1 when six DNR buildings at the state park were vandalized. In addition to the track chairs, two Vietnam War-era helmets were also stolen.
Track chairs are all-terrain, electric-powered wheelchairs that help people with disabilities explore Indiana state parks.

“Track chairs open up incredible opportunities for people with mobility limitations to experience the outdoors,” said Capt. Jet Quillen. “On behalf of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and everyone who will benefit from these mobility devices, we are grateful to all who shared information and helped ensure the stolen track chairs were safely returned.”
