Two separate anhydrous ammonia incidents in Indiana over the past week serve as a reminder of the importance of fertilizer handling safety as producers continue field operations across the state.
In Pulaski County, emergency responders were called to a leaking anhydrous ammonia tank near Winamac on Sunday afternoon. According to WSBT, the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched shortly before 5 p.m. after an initial report suggested the tank had exploded.
