Ristorante Roma owner Raffaele D’Eusebio is expanding beyond Italian cuisine with the opening of Charred, a steakhouse and bourbon bar, at 61 W. City Center Dr.
The Rome native began the process of opening another restaurant in 2023 with an original launch date set for early 2025. Just before opening, however, the hood and duct systems failed, and the entire interior had to undergo a second full remodel.
“The biggest challenge was overcoming the construction issues,” D’Eusebio said. “Imagine having a restaurant that you paid for, you’re about to open, you have all the employees ready and trained, and then the hoods break. Before cashing in one check, you have to close it and remodel it completely.”…
