Before they close Dalys Jett’s casket Saturday, his family has one hope: to view the body camera footage of his last moments alive.
Jett was shot and killed about 10:15 p.m. on July 22 in the 8000 block of East 37th Street after Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers received reports of a disturbance. He was 21. After officers arrived at the scene, Jett fired shots at the officers, and three officers returned fire, according to an IMPD new release issued shortly after the shooting. Two officers were shot.
