INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The state Department of Natural Resources reported two deaths Monday afternoon following separate incidents in Whitley and Newton counties in northern Indiana over the weekend.
Indiana conservation officers are investigating the Friday death of a Columbia City man after his body was recovered in Big Cedar Lake, and the Saturday death of a woman from the town of Morocco in an off-road vehicle crash. Both investigations remained incomplete on Monday.
The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office at 2:30 p.m. Friday received a 911 call reporting a missing swimmer near the 1800 block of East Schug Road, about 8 miles north of Columbia City.
