Man sentenced to 42.5 years in prison for stabbing mother in stomach, head during Brownsburg attack

BROWNSBURG, Ind. — A man will serve over 40 years behind bars for stabbing his mother multiple times during a “brutal attack” in Brownsburg three years ago.

The Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Kyle Braun has received a 42.5-year maximum aggregate sentence in the Indiana Department of Correction in connection with the attempted murder of his mother.

According to previous reports, Brownsburg police responded in April 2023 to the 1500 block of Midnight Pass in the Summer Ridge subdivision, where they discovered a 59-year-old woman lying in her front yard with a kitchen knife lodged in her head.

Officers established contact and learned that the woman was alert. She informed them that Braun, whom she identified as her son, had attacked her in the kitchen. The woman was brought to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition…
