2 injured in a shooting on far east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were injured in a shooting on the far east side of Indianapolis Saturday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 10100 block of Ridgefield Drive — which is located just off of North Mitthoefer Road — around 12:19 a.m. to investigate a shooting. When police arrived at the scene, they located two individuals who had sustained injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

The victims were transported from the scene to a local hospital. IMPD reported that both victims are currently in stable condition.

A public police report on the incident indicates investigators recovered both .40 caliber and 9mm casings at the scene. They also found at least one bullet fragment during their investigation…
