INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis seems to still be in the running to house a Major League Soccer franchise, but this time, with a new stadium location. Mayor Hogsett met with MLS leadership last week and proposed an undisclosed site near Lucas Oil Stadium, according to FOX59/CBS4’s partner, the Indianapolis Business Journal.
The IBJ reports the plan will include a “Football Stadium District,” which would position major sports facilities together as part of a bigger mixed-use development. It could complement future improvements at Lucas Oil Stadium as the Colts are near an early exit clause in their contract, according to the IBJ.
