Indiana Landmarks has released its 10 Most Endangered list, an annual list of highly threatened Hoosier landmarks.
The Ayers House in Fortville is among the sites selected for this year’s list. According to a news release, the 1913 home at 124 East Staat St. near downtown is a reminder of the town’s early prosperity.
The original owner, Arthur B. Ayres, built major oil interests in Kentucky before selling his company to Standard Oil and developing a friendship with John Rockefeller, according to the news release…
