Town official in Hamilton County terminated after being named in 1992 murder investigation

ATLANTA, Ind. — A town official in Hamilton County has been terminated after he was named in a 1992 murder investigation.

The Atlanta town council held a special meeting Saturday, May 31 to discuss Andy Emmert, utility superintendent and building commissioner, being named in the murder of 24-year-old Tony Bledsoe by the man who is charged with murder — 53-year-old Thomas Anderson.

(NOTE: 13News is naming Andy Emmert – despite criminal charges not being filed in the incident – because he has previously been investigated and named as a town official.)
