Indiana Drone Surveillance Leads to Two Arrests in Firearms Case This Week

Indianapolis, IN – An 18-year-old man and a juvenile were arrested by Indiana authorities following a drone-assisted firearms investigation on the east side of Indianapolis.

According to the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF), James Dycus Jr. and a 17-year-old male were apprehended near East 10th Street on Wednesday during a targeted operation that utilized aerial surveillance to monitor and track illegal firearm activity.

Investigators stated that drone footage reportedly showed Dycus allegedly handing a firearm to the juvenile near a gas station. The juvenile then reportedly returned the weapon after a short time. Officers moved in and detained both suspects, recovering the gun from Dycus’s jacket. Authorities said the firearm was equipped with an illegal “invisi-switch” machine gun conversion device and had previously been reported stolen…
