Docs: Indianapolis man charged after leaving infant in 120+ degree vehicle at mall parking lot

GREENWOOD, Ind. — A father has been charged with neglect after he reportedly left his infant child inside a hot vehicle while grabbing money from an ATM at the Greenwood Park Mall.

According to court documents, 24-year-old Carson Collins, an Indianapolis resident, was charged with one count of neglect of a dependent, a Level 6 felony.

On June 28, an officer with the Greenwood Police Department was called after an infant was found inside a Toyota Camry in the parking lot of the Greenwood Park Mall. The court documents said that the vehicle was not running, no adults were nearby and the “child appeared to be sweating.”…
