Aggressive dog dead after being shot by Carmel police
CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — A dog was shot and later euthanized while Carmel Police Department officers were investigating a stabbing incident Sunday morning.
At 4:33 a.m. Sunday, Carmel officers received a frantic 911 call reporting a stabbing in the 500 block of East 111st Street. Officers arrived and heard someone inside a detached garage calling for help.
While attempting to reach the person inside the detached garage, officers were confronted by an “aggressive” dog. According to a news release, the dog was shot by officers, giving the officers safe access to the person calling for help.
