‘Aggressive’ dog shot by Carmel police during stabbing investigation

Aggressive dog dead after being shot by Carmel police

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — A dog was shot and later euthanized while Carmel Police Department officers were investigating a stabbing incident Sunday morning.

At 4:33 a.m. Sunday, Carmel officers received a frantic 911 call reporting a stabbing in the 500 block of East 111st Street. Officers arrived and heard someone inside a detached garage calling for help.

While attempting to reach the person inside the detached garage, officers were confronted by an “aggressive” dog. According to a news release, the dog was shot by officers, giving the officers safe access to the person calling for help. The Carmel Fire Department transported the dog to an emergency veterinary clinic, where it was euthanized…
