Indiana Crime Guns Task Force seizes more than 300 guns in 9 months

Task force seizes hundreds of guns this year

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police on Tuesday said community cooperation and old-fashioned police work led to hundreds of guns getting taken off of central Indiana’s streets.

From July 1 through Sept. 30, the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force seized 53 illegally possessed firearms and five machine gun conversion devices. It also seized 2,635 grams of methamphetamine and 3,182 grams of marijuana. It made 62 arrests on state charges and six on federal charges.

Since the beginning of the year, the task force has seized a total of 303 illegally possessed firearms, 184 machine gun conversion devices, 5,561 grams of fentanyl and 5,364 grams of methamphetamine. Its officers have made a total of 236 arrests…
