Indiana duck farm quarantined after bird flu detection

LaGRANGE, Ind. (WISH) — A commercial duck farm in northeastern Indiana has been quarantined after bird flu was found, the Indiana Board of Animal Health said in a news release issued Thursday night.

The goal of the quarantine of the 2,617 ducks was to prevent the spread of the virus. Control and surveillance zones also were established in portions of LaGrange County, and neighboring Elkhart and Noble counties. Hobby poultry owners were encouraged to report any signs of illness in their birds.
