Lake County- Court documents show a 34-year-old Indianapolis man has been charged after being stopped for driving 101 mph on I-65 and later found to be using a fake ID. The traffic stop occurred around 1 a.m. on October 10, 2025, in Lowell.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Indiana State Police clocked a silver 2023 Nissan Sentra traveling 101 mph in a posted 70 mph zone on I-65 southbound near the 242 mile marker. The vehicle was stopped near the 240.8 mile marker. Troopers noted the vehicle registration had expired as of August 14, 2025. When the officer approached the car, he smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
The driver told the officer he didn’t have his wallet and wrote down the name “Daquan Davis” with a date of birth of December 11, 1993. A BMV check showed no record of that name in Indiana, but an active warrant for fraud was displayed under similar information. The driver and two occupants were detained for further investigation.…
